Our goal is to raise $15,000 for the Thrive Centre. The Health & Wellness Lab is part of the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. Under the leadership of Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed, her students, and dozens of volunteers, the Lab is committed to translating research into sustainable community programs such as the Thrive Centre.
The Thrive Centre is an innovative fitness facility that empowers and improves lives of people affected by cancer. The Thrive Centre offers adult and youth programs such as group exercise classes, yoga classes, and individual assessments and training. The fitness facility is a complementary gym where cancer patients, survivors, and their support people can exercise.

In Canada, 45% of men and 39% of women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. 1 in 4 Canadians will die of the disease.
Physical activity, including exercise and yoga, is safe and beneficial at all stages of the cancer experience.
Our work is dedicated to advancing research on these benefits and promoting physical activity among cancer survivors by expanding evidence-based community programs across Canada.
